Destination Moon: historic day as India launches first space mission

“This is a historic moment for India,” said G. Madhavan Nair, ISRO’s chairman, shortly after the launch. “What we have started is a remarkable journey . . . to unravel the mysteries of the Moon.”

Now ISRO has far more ambitious and expensive plans. The Government has approved a second unmanned lunar mission, Chandrayaan2, that will land a rover on the Moon by 2010-12 at a cost of £47 million. ISRO is also planning to put its first Indian astronaut into orbit by 2014-16, depending on when the Government approves the £1 billion budget. It has already announced plans to land a man on the Moon by 2020.

ஒரு வருடத்துக்கு முன்பாக ஒரு கோவில் உடைப்பட்டால் அதை தட்டி கேட்டவர்கள் சிலர் மட்டுமே..அந்த நல்ல உள்ளங்களும் இன்று இசா என்ற கொடூர சட்டத்தின் பிடியில் இருக்கின்றனர்!

மலேசியா இந்தியர்களின் மன பிரதிபலிப்பு கடந்த பொது தேர்தலில் எதிரோலித்தது!!!

இன்று ஒரு கோவில் உடைப்பட்டால் தட்டி கேட்டு மறியல் பண்ணி நியாயம் கேட்க  பலர் உள்ளனர்..சந்தோஷம் & மிக்க நன்று!

ஆனால்...கோவில் உடைப்பின் முக்கிய காரணத்தை (ரூட் காஸ்) நிவர்த்தி செய்தால் மட்டுமே இந்த பிரச்சனைகள் தீரும்.. இங்கு பல கேள்விகள் எழுகின்றன!!

ஒவ்வொரு தடவையும் கோவில் உடைபட்டால் நாம் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் மறியலில் இறங்க வேண்டுமா? ஏன் சிறு தெய்வ வழிபாடுகள் அதிகம் உள்ளன? உங்கள் சொந்த நிலத்தில் யாரோ ஒருவர் குடிபுகுந்து வாசம் செய்தால்..நீங்கள் வெறுமென ஒன்றும் செய்யாமல் இருப்பீர்களா? இந்த கேள்விகள் அனைத்துக்கும் முழு தீர்வு என்ன?

இங்கு நம் இந்தியர்கள் சார்ந்த அரசியல் கட்சிகளும் மற்றும் இந்து சங்கமும் நிறைய பங்காற்ற வேண்டும்.

இந்த பிரச்சனைக்கு முதல் காரணம் இந்து சமயம் பற்றிய முறையான அடிப்படை கல்வி நமது மக்கள் இடையே இல்லை என்பதுதான்! இரண்டாவது காரணம், ஒரு ஆலயம்/கோவில் ஏன் முறைப்படி அரசாங்கத்தின் அனுமதி பெற்று கட்டப்படுவது முக்கியம் சிறிதும் என்பதை கருதாமல் அலச்சியமாக இருப்பது!!

இந்து சமயக் கல்வி அளிப்பது நேரம், காலம் அதிகம் எடுக்கும் என பலர் நினைக்கலாம்..இன்று நாம் தொடங்கினால் நமது அடுத்த தலைமுறையிலாவது இந்த கோவில் உடைப்பு பிரச்சனைகள் குறைய வாய்ப்புண்டு!!

நமது மலேசியா திருநாட்டில் எத்தனை ஆலயங்கள் இந்து சமயக் கல்வியை போதிக்கின்றன? எத்தனை ஆலயங்களில் இந்து சமயத்தை பற்றி உரைகள் நிகழ்த்தபடுகின்றன?

நாம் இன்று தொடக்கும் முதல் அடி பயணம் நமது எதிர்கால சந்ததியினர்ற்கு நற்பலனை அளிக்கும் என்பதில் ஐயம் இல்லை!!

Malaysian Ringgit Will Be a `Washout'

Malaysia's ringgit, Southeast Asia's second-worst performer in the past three months, will be "a washout'' in 2008 as a growing budget deficit and policy inaction on inflation turn investors away, a think tank said.The ringgit will probably weaken to 3.5 per dollar by year end, Ariff Kareem, executive director of the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research.

Anwar wins Malaysia vote with big majority

Landslide victory over 15,000 votes

Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim won a special election for a parliament seat Tuesday, strengthening his campaign to topple the government and become the next prime minister even though he faces a sodomy charge.

Anwar Ibrahim is the former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and is currently the de facto leader of Keadilan, the People’s Justice Party. After a distinguished career in public service he was unjustly removed from office and endured six years in solitary confinement on trumped-up charges. In 2004 those charges were dismissed and he resumed his campaign to build a prosperous, democratic and just Malaysia.

Anwar is the only Malaysian to ever make it into Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world.

Who is Anwar Ibrahim??
Anwar was born in Cherok Tok Kun, a village on the mainland side of the northern Malaysian state of Penang, to a hospital porter, Ibrahim Abdul Rahman (later to join politics and retire as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Health) and Che Yan, a housewife (and later UMNO politician). He was educated at University of Malaya, where he read Malay Studies. Prior to that, he took his secondary education at the Malay College Kuala Kangsar.

From 1968 to 1971, as a student, Anwar was the president of a Muslim students organisation, Persatuan Kebangsaan Pelajar Islam Malaysia (PKPIM). He was one of the protem committee of Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM) or Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia which was founded in 1971. He was also elected President of the Malaysian Youth Council or Majlis Belia Malaysia (MBM). In 1974, Anwar was arrested during student protests against rural poverty and hunger. He was imprisoned under the Internal Security Act, which allows for detention without trial, and spent 20 months in the Kamunting Detention Centre for political prisoners.

On April 14, 2008, Anwar celebrated his official return to the political stage, as his ban from public office expired a decade after he was fired as Deputy Prime Minister. One of the main reasons the opposition seized a third of parliamentary seats and five states in the worst ever showing for the Barisan Nasional coalition that has ruled for half a century, was due to him leading at the helm. A gathering of more than 1,000 supporters greeted Anwar in a rally welcoming his return to politics. Police interrupted Anwar after he had addressed the rally for nearly two hours and called for him to stop the gathering since there was no legal permission for the rally.

On April 29, 2008, after 10 years of absence, he returned to the Parliament, albeit upon invitation as a spouse guest of Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, People's Justice Party and the first female opposition leader in Malaysian Parliament's history. Anwar Ibrahim stated he is confident that he can win over enough government legislators in a parliamentary vote in September to end over 50 years of rule by one party. His party will stage a confidence vote on September 16 against Abdullah Badawi and needs the support of just 30 government legislators in the 222-seat lower house of parliament.

It hopes to sway ruling party lawmakers from the states of Sabah and Sarawak to oust the UMNO party from power for the first time since Malaysia won independence in 1957. On July 27, 2008, Anwar Ibrahim said that he aimed to return to Parliament if a court ordered a by-election near his home town of Permatang Pauh in Penang. He said on July 31 that he would contest a by-election for the parliamentary seat of Permatang Pauh, which was being vacated by his wife in order to expedite his return to political office. His wife Wan Azizah said she handed her letter of resignation to the parliament speaker on 31 July. Party officials said that the by-election had to be held within 60 days.

They attacked to protect their citizens and peacekeepers.

PAS showing true colors again.. PAS should realize that they would not be stronger without non-Malays votes in the past election! Malaysians do not want racial based parties. We want "Pakatan Rakyat" that would help all its citizens! They did not learn lesson from old story when PAS was kick out by BN in the 70's. PAS actions no difference with a wife whom has secret relationship other than own husband!! Nik Aziz wants hudud, MCA flabbergasted

PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has thrown a spanner in the works on the PAS-Umno talks by suggesting that the Islamic hudud criminal law be the platform of a future union of the two rival parties.

Not surprisingly, MCA - the second largest party in the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition - is flabbergasted by the proposal.

"I am disappointed and gravely concerned with Nik Aziz's statement to implement hudud and qisas laws as it would mean the creation of a theocratic Islamic state,” MCA Youth secretary-general Wee Ka Siong.

“I urge Umno to object against PAS' proposal as it is a matter of principle," added Wee, who is vying for the Chinese-based party’s vice-president post in the upcoming polls in October.
Proposal ‘totally unacceptable’

The deputy education minister has described Nik Aziz’s idea as "totally unacceptable by MCA".
Nik Aziz, who had previously opposed talks with its ideological rival, said that his party would propose the implementation of hudud and qisas laws should the PAS-Umno merger becomes a reality.

Under Islam, crimes classified under hudud such as murder, theft and adultery carry severe punishment including the amputation of limbs and stoning to death.

Meanwhile, qisas (law of retaliation) allows for, among others, compensation in the form of money or property if the heirs of the victim forgive the murderer.
